Pink Power: Spirit of Pink Event Unites Women Through Hope, Health and Healing

Ladies, come out and show your Pink Power!
The Spirit of Pink is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 5:30 pm at the KC Hall, 600 Market Street, Ste. Genevieve, MO. The highly anticipated signature breast cancer awareness event is on for another year with a shared theme of “Pink Power: Together We Cure”. Women of all ages can join together and shine a light on breast cancer awareness empowering women to prioritize their health.
“Women will enjoy coming together to show strength, courage and grow in hope for all those who have been touched by breast cancer,” said Dr. Angela Ware, breast surgeon and director of the Metis Breast Center at the Bloomsdale Medical Centre. “We want women to show their “Pink Power” and dress up and show off!”
The event will feature guest speaker, Beth Wilmes, CEO and founder of Faith through Fire. An organization that fills a critical gap in cancer care by bringing emotional support beyond the clinical setting and into the real lives of women. Their goal is not simply to help women endure breast cancer, but to reduce trauma, restore hope, and help them move toward truly thriving.
“Our programs are intentionally low-maintenance, unobtrusive, psychologically safe, and designed around how women actually seek and receive support. Through our text-based peer mentorship program, women can connect privately and conveniently with a trained breast cancer survivor who understands what they are experiencing,” said Wilmes. “We also provide trauma education that helps patients recognize and process the emotional effects of diagnosis and treatment before fear, anxiety, and isolation become long-term barriers to healing.”
Each year, organizers make the event inspiring, fun, and educational. This year’s event will be extra special since the event’s theme is Pink Power to help promote empowering women to prioritize their health and recognize the strength they have to endure life’s challenges. The program includes an evening of dinner with mocktails, fun photos, music by Eric and Nicole Bennett and more!
“This will be an exciting moment for us,” said Dr. Ware. “Women can dress in pink to show how they are committed to their health, it will be lots of fun.”
Angela Ware, DO, breast surgeon and Mary Crecelius, WHNP, APNG-BC, DipACLM will extend a warm welcome to start off the night. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, there will be information available on genetic testing, breast cancer prevention and treatment. Cancer survivors will be honored and participants who dress in pink will be recognized.
Ladies of all ages are welcome to attend. Cost for the event is $15, and participants are encouraged to RSVP here for this limited seating event. Cancer survivors are free but please register at 573-883-7791.
The Metis Breast Center focuses on early detection and prevention, as well as treatment of benign breast disease and breast cancer. We provide 3D mammography, ultrasound, MRI, minimally invasive breast biopsies on site, as well as surgery for benign and malignant breast disease.
